Thinking Outside The Box: Using Spaces In Your Home For Living

Let’s talk about the space in our home. There is definitely a traditional way to use your rooms, and it can be comfortable to do so. It is easier to set up your home as a more traditional layout. Or is it? How often have you used your dining room in the last month? How many times have you used your living room or your home office? These are good questions to get you thinking. For our family, we rarely use the dining room, so I ended up putting the dining room table and chairs in our kitchen. We now eat comfortably every night in our beautiful CB2 chairs. While eating, we all have a lot of space (which is uber important to my husband), and that table has become the heart of our home. We made the dining room into a “parlor” (as we jokingly call it) where adults can adult! It was tough to take that leap into the abyss and create different spaces, however, we have enjoyed them more than I would have ever imagined. Once you think outside the box on one room, it’s like a domino effect-you start using your entire home for living your life rather than what the rest of the world deems livable. I would venture to say that it has enhanced our life when we are home, and who doesn’t love that? Below you will find inspiration to get you thinking about changing up your spaces! *All image credits are from Pinterest

Check out this dining room transformed into a gaming room that one family created. What do they love to do? What is important to them? They answered these questions with a resounding and beautiful gaming space.

This used to be a boring office space, however, it has now been transformed into a beautiful lounge. I could not love this more.

A dining room turned into an office? Yes, please.

Do your kids need a place to study, draw or just a space to get those creative juices flowing? Turn a traditional space into a study area. Maybe their grades will improve? Just kidding, I am not that good.

I hope you have enjoyed this first blog post. If you have read this far, then THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR BEING HERE…I truly mean it. Now go change those spaces in your home!

Love Always,
